BALTIMORE – The UAlbany men’s lacrosse team has been ranked #3 in the first Inside Lacrosse (IL) Maverik Media Poll of the season.
It is the highest placement in the preseason media poll in UAlbany history. This poll is voted on by various media members across the country.
This ranking matches the #3 placement in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) poll released last week. UAlbany picked up six first-place votes in the poll for 518 points.
UAlbany is coming off one of its best seasons in history, finishing 15-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the America East. UAlbany had a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals last year, falling to eventual national champion Maryland.
Duke stands at #1 in the poll with 12 first-place votes and 552 points, followed by Maryland at #2 with 10 first-place votes and 539 points. Denver comes in at #4 with the final first-place vote and 508 points with Yale rounding out the top-5 with 471 points.
Future UAlbany opponents include Maryland, Yale, Syracuse (#11), Cornell (receiving votes) and Harvard (receiving votes).
