ALBANY, N.Y. – Two freshmen on this year’s UAlbany men’s lacrosse team, Will Ramos and Steve Ramirez, have been named to the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team Roster for the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Games this summer.

Ramos, a top-100 recruit by Inside Lacrosse as a goalkeeper at Upper Nyack, and Ramirez, who scored 60 goals as a senior for all-county honors at Lindenhurst, each enter their freshman year in 2018 for UAlbany.

The 2018 FIL Men’s World Championship will be held in Netanya, Israel from July 12-21.  More than 50 nations are set to compete in the 2018 championships, as Puerto Rico joined the FIL officially in 2016 and will compete in its first World Games this year.

As of January 9th, teams including either a current or UAlbany alum to the national team or its training roster include Canada, the Iroquois Nationals, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Israel and Latvia.
