Kyle McClancy Honored as AE Scholar-Athlete for Men's Lacrosse
ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany junior midfielder Kyle McClancy has been selected as the America East Scholar-Athlete for men's lacrosse, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
McClancy is one of six to be selected as America East Spring Scholar-Athletes. This award nominates McClancy for America East Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
McClancy is the fourth UAlbany student-athlete in the 2016-17 season to be honored as an America East Scholar-Athlete. Paula Heuser of field hockey, Laini Leindecker of volleyball and David Nichols of men's basketball also were America East Scholar-Athletes.
On the field, McClancy earned All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and Inside Lacrosse as a starter in the UAlbany first midfield. The America East All-Conference First Team player had 10 multi-point games for a combined 32 points off 22 goals and 10 assists, adding 15 ground balls.
In the classroom, McClancy sports a 3.94 cumulative GPA in business, earning USILA DI Scholar All-America honors. He is also a two-time member of the America East All-Academic Team.
