Comments From Coach Colleen Cashman-McSween
“Today was most definitely not the day we were looking for or hoping for. But given the non-stop rain and difficult playing conditions the entire round, all we can do is take it as a learning lesson and improve next time. Yesterday was a marathon 13 hour day at the course in 53 degree weather and 15 mph winds. Playing 72 holes in three days is challenging enough without the weather demands, but I think today we may have just run out of gas mentally and physically. But I’m still very proud of each of them as they fought hard and never gave up. Being only three shots from first place after the first two rounds against these first class teams was very satisfying overall. I’m very proud of Madison as she has continued to shine in only her second college tournament ever.”
The UAlbany Golf team will compete again October 5th-7th in the Yale Intercollegiate in New Haven, Connecticut.
