UAlbany Sports Information   09-04-2018

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s golf team opens its Fall 2018 campaign September 9th, competing in the Crosstown Challenge against Siena. The 18-hole match will begin with at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Wolfert’s Roost Country Club.

The Crosstown Challenge will be the only home appearance during the fall season.

The Great Danes return four players from last year, including Helga Einarsdottir, Megan Henry, Caroline Juillat, and Annika Espino. The Great Danes will welcome two new golfers to the roster, Pasqualina Tartaglione and Madison Walker.

The Crosstown Challenge marks the first of five tournaments that UAlbany is slated to compete in this fall.

“I believe that we are ready to get this season underway,” said head coach Colleen Cashman-McSween. “A brand new great golf course to play, a couple new players on the team, but still the same positive attitude and chemistry that we finished up last season with! Excited to see what this group can do and looking forward to having some people out there to root us on! I think this is the first time we have ever begun our season with our home match so we have an advantage beginning the year on our home territory!”
