ALBANY, N.Y. - Making their second NCAA Regional appearance, the University at Albany women’s golf team has been selected to compete in the Tallahassee, Florida regional May 7-9, announced Wednesday during the NCAA Women's Golf Selection Show.

The Tallahassee regional will be played at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course & Club in Tallahassee, Florida, with Florida State University serving as the host institution.

384 participants were selected for regional competition and of those, 132 will advance to the championships finals. Six teams and three individuals will advance from each regional.

Under the direction of head coach Colleen Cashman-McSween, the UAlbany women’s golf team captured the program’s second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship Sunday at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course. Senior Annie Songeun Lee took the individual title for the second time in her career at UAlbany, while Coach Cashman-McSween was named the 2018 MAAC Women’s Coach of the Year, also for her second time.

Comments From Coach Cashman-McSween

"We are super excited to be heading back to Florida for our Regional tournament. It’s kind of like a homecoming for both of us coaches being from Florida and we obviously have great memories of this past week winning in Orlando. FSU is a great college town with lots to see and do before the tournament starts. And from what I hear the golf course is great! And contrary to the weather in the north we are guaranteed warmer weather. We are really looking forward to competing and enjoying this moment together as a team!"
