This is UAlbany’s eighth appearance at the MAAC Championship since becoming a member in 2010. Last spring, the Great Danes placed 5th out of the eight team field. Quinnipiac took home the overall title. In 2015 the Great Danes took home the program’s first MAAC title. Prior to 2010, UAlbany won America East titles in 2004, 2008, and 2009.

The Great Danes are coming in strong to the MAAC Championship after a first place finish this past weekend at the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Senior Paige Fujihara and freshman Helga Einarsdottir were the top scorers for the Great Danes tying for fourth. Annie Songuen Lee will bring experience to the course this weekend. In 2015 she took home the MAAC individual title.

The MAAC champion will receive automatic bids to the 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships.
