Women’s Golf Closes Fall Slate At Pirate Invitational
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University at Albany women’s golf team will wrap up its 2016 fall slate Friday and Saturday at the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational. The 36-hole tournament will be played at Trump National in Bedminster, N.J.
In addition to the hosting Pirates, UAlbany will take on Central Connecticut State, Creighton, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hartford, Hofstra, Illinois State, Lamar, Lehigh, LIU-Brooklyn, Monmouth, Nebraska-Omaha, and South Dakota State in the 14-team field.
LAST TIME OUT
Rallying on the second day of competition, UAlbany placed second out of 11 competing schools at the Quinnipiac Classic on Oct. 11. The Great Danes shot 335-317-317 to finish with a 969 behind tournament champion St. John’s (324-312-310--946). Individually, the Great Danes had two top-10 finishers, as senior Yoorim Kang (83-80-78) led the team with a 241, tying for fourth-place. Senior Paige Fujihara (80-81-81) finished one shot back with a 242, placing ninth. Junior Annie Songeun Lee (89-78-79--246) came in 14th in the 62-athlete field, followed by freshmen Annika Espino (89-80-79--248) in 18th and Megan Henry (83-79-91--253) in 28th.
