Cambridge, Mass.- UAlbany senior outfielder Diane MacDowell was named to the 2012 America East Conference Softball All-Academic Team on Thursday, May 31. MacDowell was also recognized earlier this season for her play on the field, as she was selected to the All-Conference First team.

MacDowell, a Middletown, N.Y. native, carried her success from last season and improved in all facets of her game. After batting .226 with 25 runs scored and 23 stolen bases last season, the senior outfielder batted .306 with 39 runs scored and 28 stolen bases. She inked her named into the UAlbany softball record books with 64 career stolen bases, which puts her fourth all-time. Over the past two seasons, she started 101 consecutive games as a Great Dane.
