Iati And Craig Will Be Featured On Albany's CBS 6
ALBANY, N.Y. - With great starts to the 2012-13 season, Albany's CBS 6 has chosen to feature men's basketball's fifth-year senior guard Jacob Iati and women's basketball's sophomore center Megan Craig. Both squads are off to a great start, as the men are off to a 9-2 overall record and the women begin the season 8-2.
Iati, who will be featured on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. (Channel 6 (SD) or 1806 (HD)), is having a career year through the first 11 games. The York, Pa. native has tallied in nine of the first 11 games at least three three-pointers in a game. He has currently hit at least one three-pointer in 19 consecutive games. The fifth-year senior guard is tied-for third nationally in made three-pointers with 41, shooting a stellar 47.1 percent from behind the arc.
Craig, who will be feature on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. on the same channel, has been crucial for the Great Danes and arguably the best sixth women (first off the bench) in the America East Conference. The sophomore center is averaging a team-best 12.3 points in just 20.4 minutes a game, which is fourth in the conference. Nationally, the Whangarei, New Zealand native is 11th in field-goal shooting percentage (60.9 %).
The women's basketball team is currently on the road at the Beach Classic in Long Beach, Calif. to face Sam Houston State on Thursday, Dec. 21 (7 p.m. PST) then face either Long Beach State or Canisius on Friday, Dec. 22.
The men's basketball team prepares for Quinnipiac on Friday, Dec. 22 at the SEFCU Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
