UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse Wants You to Support JP Honsinger and Team Persevere

Wide World of Sports Foods Information | JP Hangs Out with UAlbany Lacrosse

LATHAM, N.Y. – 10-year-old JP Honsinger is suffering from Niemann-Pick Type C Disease, a rare form of childhood Alzheimer’s.  The UAlbany men’s lacrosse team is asking for your support to help this young man.

“Our players are very proud to have JP as part of our team, and we look forward to supporting him every step of the way,” says UAlbany head coach Scott Marr. “JP demonstrates the type of character, strength and spirit that we all should aspire to!”

On Monday, November 18th, Team Persevere, a team of family and friends looking to help JP defeat his disease, will be hosting “The Wide World of Sports Foods” at the Century House on Route 9 from 5-8 p.m.  The event will include regional sports food, the music of Sugar Pill, dancing and a silent auction.  Tickets are just $30, and all proceeds go to help fighting JP’s disease.

Niemann Pick Type C Disease can cause neurological problems to children, which cannot be cured with known medicine.

Earlier, the UAlbany men’s lacrosse team, one of JP’s favorite sports teams, spent some time with JP on the field.  The coaching staff and many of the players will be attending this event in support of JP.
