Snow Named CoSIDA Academic All-America Third-Team

ALBANY, N.Y.—Liz Snow was named to the the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I softball third-team. The 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America softball team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Snow graduated this spring with a 3.47 overall GPA majoring in human biology with minors in neuroscience and sociology. In recognition of her outstanding academic excellence and athletic achievement, Snow received the 2017 SUNY Scholar-Athlete Award. Moreover, Snow was honored with an Outstanding Senior Award at the University at Albany's President's Award for Leadership this spring. Snow is also involved in the community as she was selected as UAlbany's SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) Vice President where she helped create events to allow student-athletes to give back to the local community.

On the field, Snow rewrote four UAlbany career records this season including RBIs (171), home runs (42), and doubles (62). Most recently, at the conclusion of competition this spring, Snow broke the career batting average totaling a .394 in her four years. Snow currently leads the nation in doubles per game (.47) and is second in slugging percentage (.95) and doubles (21). In the America East, Snow was named the 2017 Player of the Year where she led five offensive categories.

Earlier this season, Snow was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I first-team. Snow then advanced to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where she was selected for All-America recognition.
