Men's Basketball America East Schedule Announced

UAlbany Sports Information   07-31-2019

ALBANY, N.Y. – The New Year marks the start of the University at Albany men’s basketball team’s America East slate.  The Great Danes kick off at Binghamton on January 4 before enjoying an early bye the following week.  The home conference schedule begins January 11 against Maine.

After road games at New Hampshire and Stony Brook, UAlbany will play four of its next five at home, including hosting 2018-19 champion Vermont on February 1 for the annual Big Purple Growl.  The lone road game during that stretch will feature UMBC, in a rematch of the Great Danes’ America East quarterfinal round last season.

UAlbany’s second bye precedes road games at Hartford and Maine.  The Danes will then play three of their next four at home to close out the regular-season SEFCU Arena schedule, which concludes February 29 against Stony Brook.  The Great Danes will end the regular season on March 3 with a trip to Vermont.

“We are excited about the America East Conference schedule and the challenges that it will present,” said men’s head coach Will Brown. “The conference has a lot of talented coaches and student-athletes in it, and I am confident that conference play will be very competitive in 2020.  We are looking forward to the Purple Growl, where we will host Vermont.  We expect our team to be young, talented, and fun to watch.”
