TAMPA, Fla. – The San Francisco Giants have traded former University at Albany pitcher Stephen Woods to Tampa Bay as part of their deal to acquire Evan Longoria.  The trade was first reported by the Tampa Bay Times.

In return for Longoria, the Giants are sending the Rays Woods, infielder Christian Arroyo, outfielder Denard Span, and minor league pitcher Matt Krook.

In two seasons in the Giants’ minor leagues, Woods has gone 7-9 with a 3.04 ERA over 145.0 innings pitched with 150 strikeouts and 86 walks.
