Short Story: Baseball falls 6-1 in an elimination game against five-seed and America East Tournament host Maine, bringing the Danes’ 2018 season to an end.

Coach Mueller: “At the beginning of the fall we had high expectations for this year’s team.  We had a lot of guys coming back, a lot of experience, and a lot of new blood infused into the program.  But then we had a domino effect where one arm went down then another and another and we had to redefine our goals.  We wanted to make sure we made it into the tournament so we could try to make a run.  I knew we’d have to get a good performance out of Dom, which we did, and get a great performance out of Jack, which we did.  Brendan Smith was fabulous, and John Clayton was great today.  Our defense was pretty good.  But these games are tight, and it has to be great.  You either need to create some offense or you need to catch a break, and we didn’t do either today.  But I’m real proud of the guys.  They battled hard and represented the school well throughout the year.  I want to thank the three seniors, Jack, Connor, and J.T.  They’ve given us a lot of great years and a lot of wins, and they’ve been great for us.”
