An Akuabata Okenwa kill helped UAlbany even the first set early at 2-2.  Sandwiched by two Hanna kills, CSU took the next five and led 7-2, later going up 14-4.  Including a kill from O’Connell, UAlbany got four of the next five to pull to 15-8.  Despite two late kills from Danielle Tedesco, UAlbany fell 25-12 in set one.

CSU started set two up 5-1.  Using a couple of Tedesco kills, UAlbany went back and forth with CSU until the Rams took 10 of 11 to lead 17-5.  O’Connell notched a kill to end the run, then Okenwa and Tedesco added kills later, but UAlbany could not come closer and was defeated in set two 25-13.

Down 4-0 to begin the third game, Okenwa buried a couple of kills to get UAlbany within three at 7-4.  CSU used a 4-0 run to take a 15-6 advantage.  Another Tedesco kill helped UAlbany chip away at the deficit to seven, but another 4-0 home team run effectively sealed the set.  CSU won the set 25-12 to take the match in three.

UAlbany plays two matches tomorrow, taking on Colorado at 1 p.m. ET (11 a.m. MT) and Xavier at 7 p.m. ET (5 p.m. MT) at the Moby Arena in Fort Collins.
