Baseball Swept By Maine

UAlbany Sports Information   05-12-2018

Score: Maine 8, UAlbany 7

Location: Varsity Field in Albany, N.Y.

Records: UAlbany (18-25, 8-13 AE); Maine (17-29, 11-10 AE)

Short Story: UAlbany falls late to Maine on Senior Day.

Coach Mueller: “Today we really had a good game plan. Jack was dynamite for six innings. Our Achilles heel the last few weeks has been who will get those last couple outs. We really struggled in the seventh, struggled a bit in the eighth, and had a passed ball in the ninth. We weren’t good enough on the back end today. It’s disappointing. Baseball mirrors life; it’s about struggle, it’s about journey, it’s about the highs, it’s about the lows, but at the end of the day it’s about how you respond. I feel good about what we’re going to do. We have Sacred Heart on Tuesday and this team will be ready to go next weekend at UMBC to fight for a playoff spot.”
