Four Former Great Danes Named Pro All-Stars
ALBANY, N.Y. — Four University at Albany men’s lacrosse alumni, including three who will be visiting Tom & Mary Casey Stadium next month in the upstart Premier Lacrosse League, have been named to professional all-star teams.
Connor Fields, Miles Thompson and Blaze Riorden all will play in the PLL All-Star game at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on July 21, while Lyle Thompson was selected to play in the Major League Lacrosse All-Star game July 27 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.
The PLL All-Star game, which starts at 8 p.m., will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network, and the MLL game, which begins at 7 p.m., will be shown on ESPN2.
Fields leads the PLL in goals with 16 (21 points), and Riorden tops the league in save percentage at .545. Miles Thompson has nine goals and six assists.
Lyle Thompson, playing for the Chesapeake Bayhawks, leads the MLL with 33 points (23 goals).
