Three Great Danes Earn USILA Scholar All-America Recognition

ALBANY, N.Y. – Three UAlbany men’s lacrosse players were honored as 2018 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-Americans.

Kyle McClancy, Connor Fields and Troy Reh are UAlbany’s Scholar All-Americans this year.  McClancy earns this distinction for the second time while Fields and Reh are first time Scholar All-Americans.

To qualify, nominated parties must be at least senior academic standing, have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and had to be an All-American, in the North-South Game or an outstanding conference player.  Student-athletes are nominated by their respective teams, then selected by the USILA.

All three UAlbany players selected to be Scholar All-America were also USILA All-Americans on the field, helping the Great Danes to their first-ever Championship Weekend this season.

McClancy, the America East Man of the Year, finished with a 3.93 GPA in business.  On the field, he was UAlbany’s top two-way midfielder, having 29 goals, 19 assists and 36 ground balls.

Fields earned the second-highest point total in DI history with 364 points, including 86 for First Team USILA All-America honors on the field.  In the classroom, he graduated with a 3.35 GPA in business.

Reh was an All-American at LSM, picking up 45 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers and 11 goals.  He concluded his academic career with a 3.39 GPA in business.

In all, UAlbany had three of the 48 USILA Scholar All-Americans this year.  Three is the second-most for a program this season.
