Great Danes Win Third Straight, Rout FDU-Florham, 81-21

Short story: Four Great Danes scored in double-figures to help the University at Albany women’s basketball team to a 81-21 rout of FDU-Florham on Wednesday evening. The Great Danes have now won three straight games, their longest streak of the season. The 61-point margin marks the largest for UAlbany in the Division I era.
- Kyara Frames totaled a team-best 13 points in the contest.
- Alexi Schecter and Patricia Conroy added 11 points apiece while Schecter led the squad with four rebounds. Conroy’s 11 points are a season high.

Returning home following a two-game road trip bracketing the Thanksgiving holiday, the University at Albany women’s basketball team hosted FDU-Florham Wednesday night in the first leg of a doubleheader with the men’s team to celebrate the annual UAlbany Holiday Hoopla.
A slew of Great Danes finished the night with career highs including Lucia Decortes who totaled seven points. Maky Johnson and Taniya Hanner scored their first collegiate points, scoring seven and two, respectively.
The Great Danes opened the game on a 24-0 scoring run, with each of the first four points coming from senior center Alexi Schecter. Seven UAlbany players contributed to the scoring run.
After being shut out in the first quarter, FDU-Florham finally got on the board, hitting a free throw with 8:41 left in the second.
Frames hit double-digits early in the second quarter, having started the game shooting 5-6 from the floor. She finished the game with 13 points, 11 coming in the first half.
The Great Danes took a 38-point lead at the half behind six points from Schecter. UAlbany shot 46.7% from the floor in the half.
UAlbany continued to roll in the fourth quarter as the lead grew to 51 points on a Helene Haegerstrand triple at 6:45. The Great Danes outscored the Devils 21-3 in the final quarter.
