BOSTON- University at Albany forward Austin DaSilva has been named America East Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. The honor is DaSilva’s first weekly award, and the second for the Great Danes this season.
DaSilva tallied back-to-back two goal performances in the wins against Hofstra and UMass Lowell this past week.
The Brookfield, Connecticut native has 10 goals in 2019, and moved into third place all time in single season program history in the Division I era, tied with Nico Solabarrieta’s 2018 season. Since Division I, DaSilva is only the third player in program history to score 10 or more goals in a single season (Solabarrieta ’18, Afonso Pinherio ’15 & ’16).
The Great Danes return to action on Saturday, October 19 at UMBC. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
