BOSTON – The University at Albany women’s lacrosse team, fresh off a comeback victory in the 2019 season opener against Yale, earned two of three America East weekly awards in their first iteration of the season.  Sophomore Kendra Harbinger was named Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman Hailey Carroll earned Rookie of the Week recognition.  They were named alongside UMBC’s Carly Tolino, who was name Defensive Player of the Week.

Harbinger, a midfielder from Clifton Park, N.Y., is the reigning America East Rookie of the Year.  She was named America East Rookie of the Week seven times last season, and finished her debut campaign ranked third on the team with 56 points.  She has kept the momentum going at the start of her sophomore year, scoring four goals in the opener against Yale, including the game-tying goal late as well as the goal to put the Great Danes up two.

Carroll, an attack from Syracuse, N.Y., earns her first-ever America East weekly award following her debut performance on Saturday.  Carroll scored three goals and won seven draw controls during the game against Yale.
