Women's Basketball Visits Residents at Atria Crossgates
ALBANY, N.Y. — A handful of student-athletes and coaches from the UAlbany women's basketball program paid a visit to the residents of Atria Crossgate, a senior living facility in Albany, N.Y., on Thursday evening.
The Great Danes spent the evening conversing, laughing and sharing stories with the residents of Atria, many of whom received a degree from the university.
“While visiting the residents at Atria Crossgate, our players and staff enjoyed snacks, laughs and some great stories,” said Head Coach Colleen Mullen. “Experiences like this provide our student-athletes the opportunity to see the positive impact that comes while serving others. Whatever fun we provided for them, they returned to us tenfold.”
Board games and snacks sparked conversations and smiles were shared throughout the evening.
"Their appearance, personality and outlook on life is wonderful, how generous of their time to come spend time visiting with us,” mentioned Rosvally, a resident of Atria Crossgate and graduate of UAlbany.
“I’m lucky to coach a group of young women who truly enjoy getting outside of themselves, meeting new people and engaging the Albany community,” explained Mullen.
