ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany Athletics has announced a partnership with Lyft for the 2018-19 season that will improve the fan experience at SEFCU Arena and Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. The collaboration makes Lyft the first ever "Official Rideshare Partner of UAlbany Athletics."

"Our fans’ gameday experience is extremely important to us,”" said Mark Benson, UAlbany Director of Athletics. "Transportation and safety are key parts of this, and we are proud to partner with Lyft as an industry leader who can help us better serve the needs of our fans, students and supporters."

Lyft service will be available for all athletic events that take place at SEFCU Arena and Casey Stadium.

“We are thrilled to partner with the University at Albany on this initiative,” said Matt Rodrigues, Market Manager of Lyft Greater New York State.  “We recognize the passion and commitment of Great Danes fans. Our commitment is to provide them with safe and reliable transportation that adds to their arena and stadium experience.”

Effectively immediately, UAlbany will promote the new rideshare drop-off and pick-up zones for fan convenience. The Lyft Rideshare drop-off and pick-up zone will be located at the SEFCU Arena Bus Circle. (Please see the map below.) In addition to dedicated drop-off and pick-up locations, Lyft will have visibility at select Great Danes football and men’s and women’s basketball home contests for the 2018-19 seasons, and will engage fans via onsite activations.

UAlbany and Lyft will run several incentive programs and giveaways for attendees utilizing the service throughout the year.  For Saturday’s football game against Morgan State, use the promo code GODANES and receive one (1) ride to or from Casey Stadium at 25% off.

To use Lyft, Great Danes fans can download the Lyft app to their mobile devices.
