INDIANAPOLIS – The UAlbany men’s lacrosse team is at the top of the first reveal of the NCAA Committee Rankings, used to determine seeding for the NCAA Tournament.
The first reveal is from all games played up through April 8th. The committee released its top-10 rankings in the first reveal.
The committee’s rankings are determined by its members, taking into effect RPI and strength of schedule among other criteria. The coaches and media polls do not affect the committee’s rankings.
UAlbany stands at #1. Through April 8th, UAlbany is 10-1 with victories over Maryland and Syracuse, each with top-4 rankings by the committee. The bracket will be reveal at the conclusion of the regular season on Sunday, May 6th at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
The NCAA said of UAlbany: “The Great Danes have the resume, high-power offense and stingy defense to warrant the No. 1 ranking.”
UAlbany plays its next game on Friday, April 20th vs. Binghamton at 7 p.m. for the Spring Stomp. For ticket information for UAlbany men’s lacrosse games, fans may contact the UAlbany ticket office at 518-442-DANE or ualbanysports.com/tickets.
