ALBANY, N.Y. – Connor Fields continues to pick up hardware as he has been selected as the Baltimore Sun National Player of the Week, selected by the publication on Tuesday.
Fields becomes the third UAlbany player to earn Baltimore Sun National Player of the Week honors this season, along with Tehoka Nanticoke and TD Ierlan. UAlbany players have three of the five national weekly honors this season.
The senior attack helped UAlbany win of pair of road games this week, including 19-8 over UMass and 11-10 over #2 Maryland, solidifying UAlbany’s place as the #1 team in the nation.
He started the week with a career-high 12 points, off five goals and seven assists, in the win over UMass, adding five ground balls. He followed with a six-point performance at Maryland off four goals and two assists, scoring the game-winning goal with 1:16 remaining and grabbing the ground ball on the final faceoff to help secure the win.
Fields was selected as the America East Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
