UAlbany Men's Basketball Back to #4 in National Mid-Major Poll

ALBANY, N.Y. – After a strong performance at Louisville on national television, the UAlbany men’s basketball team went back up to #4 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

This is UAlbany’s fifth straight week in the top-6 and fourth time in the top-5, and third week in a row, this season.  UAlbany went up a spot from #5 last week.

UAlbany is coming off a narrow loss against ACC powerhouse Louisville 70-68 on December 20th, a game that was aired nationally on ESPNU.  UAlbany holds an 11-3 overall record.

UAlbany picked up 613 points in the poll.  UAlbany stands as the highest-ranked mid-major in the state of New York and the highest from the America East Conference, being the only team in the top-25 from each category.

Gonzaga remains at #1 in the mid-major poll with 29 first-place votes and 773 points.  Saint Mary’s is at #2 with two first-place votes and 744 points while BYU is #3 with 699 points.
