Men's Soccer Hosts Hartwick On Senior Night
ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s soccer team will host its final regular season home game of 2017 on Tuesday when they face non-conference opponent Hartwick. The team will also recognize the seniors on this year’s roster with a pregame ceremony.
UAlbany (10-4-0, 3-2-0 AE) last played Hartford in the two teams’ first meeting since the 2016 America East title game. UAlbany defeated the Hawks 1-0 for a second consecutive game at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. Daniel Krutzen’s free kick goal proved to be the only score of the match.
The win over Hartford ended a two game slide for the Great Danes, who had previously lost to New Hampshire at home and UMBC on the road. UAlbany currently sits in third place in the America East standings behind New Hampshire and Vermont with two conference games remaining. With their victory over Hartford, UAlbany clinched a spot in the 2017 America East Tournament.
Hartwick last played its second of two consecutive home games, defeating Georgia State 3-0. Previously, the Hawks defeated Cornell 2-1 in double overtime.
The Great Danes will play their final two games on the road at Stony Brook and at Binghamton, before the America East Tournament kicks off on November 4.
