UAlbany Sports Information   10-16-2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – After earning the team’s first hat trick since 2012, Mariah Williams was honored as the America East Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.

This is Williams’s first-ever America East weekly award.  In total, UAlbany has two America East Player of the Week awards this season, with Vivian Vega earning the other in September.

The junior forward earns the honor after notching a hat trick in the victory over Maine.  It is the first hat trick by an America East player in a league game since October 2, 2014.

In total, Williams started both games last week with UAlbany victories over Vermont and Maine.  She leads UAlbany and stands fifth in the America East with seven goals this year.

Williams and the Great Danes will prepare for Stony Brook on Thursday, October 19th at 7 p.m. on Long Island.
