UAlbany Looks for 4th Straight Title Against Siena

ALBANY, N.Y.—The University at Albany Women’s Golf team hosts MAAC rival for its annual Crosstown Challenge. The Great Danes have won this tournament for the past three years and are looking to bring home another trophy.

LAST WEEKEND
The Great Danes placed fourth out of eleven teams last weekend at the Rutgers Women’s Golf Invitational. Helga Einarsdottir led the five-player squad shooting a program best score of 69, which allowed her to tie for fourth overall. Another Great Dane, Megan Henry, finished in the top ten as well shooting a round best of 73, tying for 8th.

SCOUTING SIENA
Siena also competed at Rutgers last weekend placing 10th. Junior Sara Riso was the only Saint able to break the top ten, tying for 8th with Henry. Last season, the Saints placed fifth at the MAAC Championship, graduating top finisher, Kristen Broomley.

2016 CROSSTOWN CHALLENGE
In the 2016 Crosstown Challenge, the Great Danes finished the 18-holes with a score of 319 which beat Siena’s score of 337. Two graduated seniors took home the individual title tying for first, UAlbany’s Paige Fujihara and the Saint’s Kristen Bromley.
