Matthew Ragovin has helped the University at Albany women's golf program to MAAC championships in each of his first two seasons. He enters his third year in 2019-20.
Ragovin comes to UAlbany after an assistant coach position at St. Lawrence University where he coached both men’s and women’s golf for a year. Prior to St. Lawrence he was an assistant at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA for two years.
In his first year with the program, the Great Danes notched their second MAAC title, and subsequent NCAA Tournament berth, plus had three other tournaments with a top-two finish. Four UAlbany players earned All-MAAC team recognition with top-10 finishes in the MAAC Championship.
Ragovin was a student-athlete himself at McMurry University in Abilene, TX where he was the captain of the men’s golf team, a member of the 2010 American Southwest All-Conferene team, and the vice president of SAAC. Graduating in 2013, Ragovin received a bachelor’s degree of interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in kinesiology, business, and psychology.
