Two UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse Players Notch America East Weekly Honors
ALBANY, N.Y. – After a pair of strong victories, the UAlbany men’s lacrosse team had two players honored with America East weekly awards.
Connor Fields was selected as the America East Player of the Week while Jakob Patterson was chosen as the America East Rookie of the Week.
This is Fields’s second offensive player of the week honor in a row and fifth overall, notching 11 weekly honors total in his collegiate career. Patterson is named America East Rookie of the Week for the first time. As a team, UAlbany has four America East weekly honors this season, with JD Colarusso having the other.
The duo led UAlbany to a pair of victories over UMass and Cornell this week as the Great Danes now ride a three-game winning streak. UAlbany won the two games be a combined score of 34-14.
Fields had a pair of eight-point performances this week, beginning with three goals and five assists in the win over UMass and following with five goals, three assists and four ground balls in the victory at Cornell. The junior attack totaled 16 points off eight goals and eight assists this week.
Patterson, a freshman attack, began the week with two goals and an assist vs. UMass, following with a career-high four goals, including three in the third quarter, and four ground balls at Cornell to total six goals on the week.
