UAlbany Sports Information   02-20-2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – Earning double-doubles in a pair of UAlbany victories, Devonte Campbell has been chosen as the America East Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week.

This is the first America East weekly honor for Campbell in his collegiate career.  He is the third different UAlbany player to earn an America East Player of the Week award this year along with David Nichols and Joe Cremo.  In total, UAlbany has five America East Player of the Week honors this season.

Campbell helped UAlbany win two games this week at home against UMBC and on the road over Maine.  The wins helped UAlbany secured home-court advantage for the America East quarterfinal round on March 1st.

The sophomore guard/forward picked up his second and third double-doubles of the season this past week, combining for 35 points and 23 rebounds, shooting 52.2% from the field and 9-for-11 from the free throw line.  He had a team-high 25 points and 10 rebounds vs. UMBC, following with 10 points and 13 rebounds against Maine.

Campbell and the Great Danes will take on Vermont on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7 p.m. in Burlington.
