Elizabeth Tapler Joins UAlbany Women’s Basketball as Director of Basketball Operations
ALBANY, N.Y. – Schenectady native and Pacific Lutheran student-athlete Elizabeth Tapler has joined the UAlbany women’s basketball team as the director of basketball operations, announced by head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson today.
“I am so thrilled to be a part of the UAlbany women’s basketball program,” said Tapler. “I hope that my efforts and energy as director of operations will bring pride to this amazing organization.”
" We are extremely excited that Liz has joined our women's basketball program!” said Abrahamson-Henderson. “She brings great positive energy every day and is extremely organized with a tremendous work ethic. Liz brings a well-rounded background in sports as a was a dual-sport athlete at Pacific Lutheran. She also played basketball in high school and for the Guilderland Girls Basketball club. She is a great addition to our program!"
Tapler graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in May of 2015 with a B.S. in Geoscience and a minor in environmental studies. She completed field work in New Zealand for Massey University plus worked for TORAY Composites as a safety and environmental intern.
At Pacific Lutheran, Tapler competed on the crew team as a rower and a heptathlon athlete for the track & field team, including the high jump, 100-meter hurdles and the shot put. A local product from the Capital District, she competed in volleyball, basketball and track & field at Guilderland High, also serving as a volunteer basketball coach for the Guilderland Girls Basketball Organization (GBC).
