McNish Leads Women’s Track And Field At ECAC Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Pat McNish garnered 10 points for the University at Albany women’s track and field team Sunday at the ECAC Championship at Princeton University. The Great Danes totaled 20.5 points as a squad, coming in 14th place out of 54 scoring schools. UConn took the team title, totaling 73 points.

Coming off a pair of titles in the America East Conference Championship, McNish placed third in the long jump, leaping 19’ 6.75”. She also came in fifth in the triple jump with her bound of 40’ 7.0”.

Junior Silvia Del Fava earned three points for the Great Danes, placing sixth in the 10,000m run with her time of 36:14.33 – the second-fastest mark in UAlbany’s record book.

Also racking up three points, UAlbany’s 4x800m relay team, consisting of Jonelle White, Brianne Bellon, Kathryn Fanning, and Sherez Mohamed, placed sixth with a time of 8:56.19.

Kathryn Fanning captured a pair of points for the team, coming in seventh in the 1500m finals. The junior finished in 4:31.14.

Junior Jillian Haynes also put the Great Danes on the board, running a mark of 12.08 in the 100m dash, good for eighth.

In the field, junior Ashley Grant tied for seventh in the high jump, clearing 5’ 7.25”, while teammate Rochelle Reid tied for 15th with her mark of 5’ 5.25”. Freshman Solene Bastien placed 11th in the triple jump with her 39’ 7.25” leap.

Up next, UAlbany’s qualified athletes will compete in the NCAA East Regional in Greensboro, N.C., May 24-26th.
