1. Looking for No. 150
UAlbany head coach Will Brown won his 149th game (all with UAlbany) in the 2012-13 season opener against Duquesne. He is one win away from 150 and is second all-time at UAlbany in wins behind Great Dane Hall of Famer Richard "Doc" Sauers. Coach Sauers, in 41 years, accumulated over 700 wins.
2. Follow-up Games After Ranked Teams
The Great Danes, since entering Division I, have faced eight ranked teams. In eight games following a game after a ranked team, all under coach Brown, are 4-4. Most recently, UAlbany is 2-0 after facing then-ranked No. 10 Pittsburgh and then-No. 5 Syracuse with follow-up wins against Brown (77-68) and Monmouth (85-49).
3. Versus Pac-12 Opponents
This will be just the fourth time UAlbany has faced a Pac-12 member in its history. The Great Danes are 1-2 against current Pac-12 opponents. The lone win came against the Utah Utes, 60-59 (who were previously of the Mountain West Conference when UAlbany played them) on Dec. 28, 2006. The two other opponents UAlbany has faced, who were and still are Pac-12 memebers, were Califorina (L, 95-61) and UCLA (L, 73-65).
4. He's On FIRE!
Fifth-year senior Jacob Iati has hit a three pointer in 10 consecutive games, dating back to last season. Iati finished out the 2011-12,tallied a three-pointer in eight consecutive games. The York, Pa. native has carried over his success in the first two games, making four of his first 10 shots from behind the arc.
5. Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament
UAlbany is one of eight teams participating in the 2012 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. The field includes Ohio State, Washington, Seton Hall, Rhode Island, UMKC, Norfolk St., and Loyola (Md.). The Great Danes will play Ohio State and Washington at their respective areanas, while playing UMKC and either Norfolk St./Loyola (Md.) in the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
