Laura Remia was appointed as the Director of Web Development and Video Production in July of 2010. Remia is the point person for all things related to website design, video streaming, video highlights, website video content, in-game video operations and T.V., production.
Before joining the UAlbany staff, Remia worked as the sports videographer for WNYT in Albany, N.Y., where she covered the local sports scene including the New York Giants win in Super Bowl XLII. In addition to her time at WNYT, Laura has worked for Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and Myriad Productions where she has covered everything from high school sports to the New York Philharmonic.
A 2001 graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Television/Radio, Remia was also a standout softball player for the Bombers. She is the softball program's only three-time All-American and was named Division III Honda Player of the Year as a senior. She broke the NCAA Division III record for career home runs, finishing with 49. A four-time all-region selection, she batted .420 with 221 hits, 187 runs batted in, 168 runs scored and 33 stolen bases. Remia led the Bombers to four NCAA playoff appearances including three trips to the College World Series. As a senior Remia earned second-team academic All-America honors and won Ithaca's Iris Carnell Award as the class of 2001's top female athlete. She was inducted into the Ithaca College Hall of Fame in 2011.
