Longtime college coach Erv Chambliss joined the University at Albany football staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2019 season.

Chambliss, who holds a master's degree in Education from UAlbany (1981), has been a collegiate coach for nearly 40 years. He most recently worked at Union College, where he served as the football program's special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach from 2003-2016.  

Chambliss also had served as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Columbia, and he held coaching positions in football, basketball and lacrosse at Williams College and the University of Rochester, from which he earned a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.
