Liz Tapler begins her third season with the UAlbany women’s basketball program as the director of operations.
Tapler graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington May 2015 with a B.S. in Geoscience and a minor in environmental studies. Her senior year at PLU, Tapler interned at TORAY Composites, a carbon fiber manufacturing company, in Puyallup, Washington, as a Safety and Environmental Associate. With her Geoscience degree, Tapler has been able to spend 6-weeks in New Zealand completing field work with Massey University. Tapler has now turned her attention back to what she loves, sports.
Tapler was a student athlete at Pacific Lutheran University. She was a heptathlon athlete for PLU’s Track and Field team, and also rowed for PLU’s crew team. Her specialty events were high jump, 100 meter hurdles and shotput.
Tapler is a native to the Albany area. She grew up in Guilderland, NY and attended Guilderland Schools. Tapler was a three time varsity player in Volleyball, Basketball and Track & Field both her junior and senior year for the Lady Dutch. Outside of competing in sports, Tapler has been a volunteer basketball coach for the Guilderland Girls Basketball Organization (GBC).
