UAlbany Soccer - M BIO
Player Profile:
Kalin joins the UAlbany men’s soccer staff in 2017, after spending 10 seasons as a head coach in the Division III ranks in the New York metro area.
Last season, he recruited and led the inaugural men’s soccer team at the College of New Rochelle.  With just 15 freshmen, the squad turned in one of the best ‘first seasons’ in NCAA memory, at 16-3.  The Blue Angels led the NCAA in goals per game with 4.4 and freshmen Jovanni Garcia became the first freshmen in Division III history to lead the country in goals, assists, and points. In one season, he mentored five First-Team All-Conference players, a Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and ECAC Metro Region Player of the Year. Kalin earned National Coach of the Year honors from the Association of Division III Independents.
Prior to New Rochelle, he spent three seasons at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where he turned a struggling program into a Skyline Conference contender.  In 2013, Kalin joined the Dolphins and immediately made a positive impact guiding the team to nine straight wins to open the season and finished with the first winning season in over a decade (12-5-2).  The next season the team made it’s first-ever Skyline Playoff appearance, bowing out in the quarterfinals. In 2015, Kalin led the team to its best season ever, advancing to the Skyline semi-finals, ending with a 12-7-2 mark.  He finished with a 33-22-4 mark, the programs highest winning percentage.

In three seasons with CMSV, he mentored two Skyline Rookie of the Year recipients (Kevin Jardines and Dennis Reyes), a Regional Rookie of the Year (Reyes), and three NSCAA All East Region players, as well as six Skyline All-Conference picks.

Before CMSV, Kalin spent six seasons at NYU-Poly.  Over his tenure at NYU-Poly, the program went from last place, to four straight Skyline Conference playoff appearances in 2009-2012. He coached one Skyline Rookie of the Year, two NSCAA All-Region players, and nine All-Conference players. In 2009, he was named Skyline Coach of the Year.  At NYU-Poly he also served as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Compliance.
Outside of collegiate soccer, he currently works with Eastern FC and has worked with numerous clubs on Long Island and Westchester County.
A 2002 graduate of Lycoming College, Kalin holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Education and is working towards his MBA.
