Teagan Waddingham, a Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) player and former goalkeeper at the Sage Colleges, has joined the UAlbany women’s soccer team as a volunteer assistant for the 2016 season.
“I am very excited to join the UAlbany staff this year,” said Waddingham. “This is an extremely talented group, and I look forward to working with them as well as the rest of the coaching staff and contributing to their growth in any way that I can.”
“We are very fortunate that we found a young professional who is looking to get into the coaching profession and is willing to do all the small things, not just on but off the field as well,” said UAlbany head coach Caitlin Cucchiella.
After a year at Hartwick College, Waddingham played for Coach Cucchiella at the Sage Colleges. She started all three years at Sage from 2012-14, leading the Gators to the ECAC Tournament as a senior team captain with 11 victories in goal, logging over 4,500 minutes in her career. She also played two years of softball at Sage.
Upon graduation, she served as a volunteer assistant at Sage in the 2015 season. Waddingham has also served as a coach for the Bethlehem Soccer Club for the U14 and U16 teams as well as numerous camps in the area.
In the summer of 2016, Waddingham played for Lancaster Torch FC in the WPSL.
Waddingham graduated from Sage in 2015, majoring in physical education.
