Rowley Named America East Player of the Week After Two 20-Point Performances

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – Junior forward Sam Rowley was named America East Player of the Week after a 1-1 showing for the Great Danes last week, the conference announced on Monday.

Rowley posted two 20-point performances in a 74-68 win at Brown and a 69-60 loss against Colgate last week. The junior scored 20 points in 19 minutes, including a 12-for-15 clip from the charity stripe against Brown. Rowley went 10-for-16 from the field and brought down five rebounds.

In a 69-60 loss to Colgate at home, Rowley registered his second double-double of the season and sixth of his career with 21 points and 11 rebounds. His point total against the Raiders matches a career high.

The junior forward is averaging 14.4 points per game and leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per game. This is the second America East weekly honor for the Great Danes this season, and the second for Rowley in his career.

UAlbany returns to action this Friday at SEFCU Arena against Yale at 7 p.m.
