Football Sets For First CAA Media Day Wednesday
ALBANY, N.Y. – Partaking in the program’s first CAA Football Media Day on Wednesday, University at Albany head coach Bob Ford and junior quarterback Will Fiacchi will travel to Baltimore, Md., representing the Great Danes at the event. Media Day will take place at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m., CAA Football will present Media Day Live, featuring interviews with all 11 head coaches and select student-athletes. Coach Ford and Fiacchi are scheduled to appear on the program at 10:53 and 10:58 a.m., respectively. Along with new addition Stony Brook, the Great Danes venture into the CAA for the 2013 season, joining current members Delaware, James Madison, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Richmond, Towson, Villanova, and William & Mary. UAlbany wrapped up a 14-year tenure in the Northeast Conference with six championships, including a share of the title in 2012. The Great Danes also boasted the best record the program has ever seen at the Division I FCS level, going 9-2 overall last year and ranked as high as No. 18 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 20 in the Sports Network Top-25.
