UAlbany 2013 Summer Baseball Assignments
ALBANY, N.Y. – While the University at Albany baseball team’s 2013 season has concluded, many of the Great Danes are continuing to compete throughout the summer months in collegiate leagues around the country. Spread across eight summer ball leagues, fifteen UAlbany players are currently inked to rosters.
Shortstop Gordon Madej and incoming transfer from De Anza Junior College, Cory Kingston, are getting to know one another as members of the South Bay Storm in the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League (GSCBL). In the same league, left-handed pitcher Andrew Jaurique is seeing time on the mound for the Atwater Aviators.
Infielder Joey Tracy, pitcher Stephen Carey, and catcher Craig Lepre are also teammates during the summer, playing for the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dogs in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL). Adam Mund is also competing in the PGCBL, but will wear a Cooperstown Hawkeyes uniform.
In the Coastal Plain League, outfielder D.J. Hoagboon and hurler Kevin Archbold are both on the Fayetteville Swampdogs roster, while fellow outfielder Josh Nethaway and pitcher Cameron Sorgie look to make an impact for the Vermont Mountaineers in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
After completing their rookie seasons at UAlbany, Ryan Stinar is pitching for the Youse’s Orioles in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, pitcher Brendan Ryan is getting innings under his belt for the North Jersey Eagles in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL), infielder Matt Hinchy has been starting for the Center Moriches Battlecats in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League, and catcher Evan Harasta is competing for the Oneonta Outlaws of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL).
