Iannone Named to Conference All-Academic Tennis Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University at Albany women’s tennis player, senior Sarah Iannone, was named to the 2013 All-America East Academic Team on Tuesday, May 14. She is one of two repeat selections to the conference’s academic squad.

Iannone will graduate magna cum laude, earning a B.A. in communications this May.  She posted a 3.75 GPA in the 2012 fall semester.  A native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Iannone has spent the last three years with the Great Danes rotating between No. 4 through No. 6 singles, as well as No. 3 doubles.

To be nominated for the distinction, America East student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve for their team and participate in at least 50 percent of their team’s games or competitions. In the classroom, student-athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have completed at least one calendar year at their institution.
