Women’s Track And Field Sets For UConn Invite Saturday



ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s track and field program looks to pick up where it left off two weeks ago when the Great Danes travel to Storrs, Conn. for the UConn Invite Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. UAlbany comes off a solid performance at the UCF Invitational, in which the squad boasted 10 ECAC qualifying marks.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
Ranking sixth in the Week 1 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Northeast Region index, the Great Danes totaled a score of 415.16 with 14 marks in the region’s top-10. UConn’s women are ranked third (513.22) in the same poll.

FANNING EARNS AMERICA EAST HONORS
In the first round of weekly honors, junior Kathryn Fanning was named the America East Performer of the Week (3/26), racing a personal best finish of 4:29.11 in the 1,500m run at the UCF Invitational.

TOP TRACK TIMES
Junior Jillian Haynes ranks second, regionally, in the 200m dash (24.50), as well as fourth in the 100m (11.91) with her strong outing at the UCF Invitational. Senior Alli Rogers in the 400m (55.02) and junior Kathryn Fanning in the 800m (2:10.62) both rank second in the Northeast with ECAC qualifying marks. Junior Tynelle Taylor-Chase ranks fifth in the region with a 1:01.43 time in the 400m, while also running a 14.29 mark in the 100m dash, good for eighth in the Northeast.

IN THE FIELD
With a third-best regional leap in the long jump (19’ 16.75”) and fifth-best mark in the triple jump (39’ 1.75”), Pat McNish has started her senior campaign in solid form. In the high jump, juniors Rochelle Reid and Ashley Grant are tied for sixth in the region, both leaping 5’ 7” at the UCF Invitational.
