Iati Named To The CoSIDA Academic NCAA Division I District I First Team

ALBANY, N.Y. - Fifth-year senior guard Jacob Iati is not just impressing people with his work on the court, but off the court as well. Iati, with his current 3.52 GPA in his pursuit for a master's in business administration, was named to the CoSIDA Academic NCAA Division I District I First Team.

Iati has shown that he has been able to balance being both a student and an athlete with the highest honors. On the court, the fifth-year senior guard has played the most minutes on the team, averaging 34.6 minutes per game. Iati is also the second leading scorer on the team and ninth in the America East Conference with 12.5 points per game. Off the court, the York, Pa. native has put in just as much time in the classroom throughout his tenure at the University at Albany, showing in his undergraduate GPA (3.43) and now in his masters (3.52).

The other four members that made the District I First Team were Brown University's Matthew Sullivan, University of Vermont's Luke Apfeld, Canisius College's Isaac Sosa and Cornell University's Eitan Chemerinski.

Iati and the Great Danes continue the 2012-13 season on Saturday, Feb. 2 against Binghamton in the 16th Annual Big Purple Growl. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
