UAlbany Men's Lacrosse Earns Votes in Two Preseason Polls

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University at Albany men's lacrosse team is receiving votes in two preseason polls, as announced on Monday. The Great Danes, who played for the America East Conference championship title last season, garnered attention to receive votes on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) poll and the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.

Loyola (Md.), which won the National Championship title last season, claimed the top spot on both polls. Five of UAlbany's 2013 opponents make appearances on the two polls, led by Johns Hopkins (t4/5). Cornell (8/6), Massachusetts (12/13), Syracuse (13/12), and Yale (17/19). Other non-conference opponents Bryant and Drexel are also receiving votes on both polls, while Harvard is receiving votes on the USILA poll. UAlbany is the only America East Conference team on either poll.

UAlbany finished last season at 5-11, and will open up the 2013 slate on Sunday, Feb. 17 at Syracuse. The Great Danes will hold their home opener on Saturday, March 2, hosting Yale on John Fallon Field at 12 p.m.
