Black Named America East Player Of The Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  For the fourth time in his career, the first time this season, senior guard Mike Black has been named America East Conference Player of the Week, which was voted on by the conference office. Black is currently the active-leading scorer in the conference with 1,198 points.

Black scored 39 points, 21 vs. St. Francis and 18 vs. Colgate, this past week as the Great Danes went 2-0. The senior guard averaged 6.0 rebounds a game, shot 46.0 percent (11-24) from the floor and 50.0 percent (5-10) from behind the arc. On the season, the Chicago, Ill. native is averaging 17.4 points (3rd best in the conference), 3.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists a game.

UAlbany look to extend its five-game winning streak against South Carolina State on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at SEFCU Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and is on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
