CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Senior forward Shayla Bergeron was honored as America East Conference Player of the Week, which was voted on by the conference office on Monday, September 10. UAlbany went 2-1 last week with two high-scoring home-wins this past Friday and Sunday.

Bergeron helped lead the Great Danes to two matches of four goals or more this past week. Against Canisius, the senior forward contributed to three of the match's four goals, scoring two and assisting one of them in the 4-3 win.
Then versus Cornell, she tallied the game's first goal on a breakaway after a great pass from teammate Despina Psomopoulos and sent in a great cross to teammate Maggie DeVerna for the would-be game-winning header in the 5-2 victory.
UAlbany prepares for a four-match road trip that begins on Friday, September 14 against Hofstra (7 p.m.).
